Although the process itself takes at least a couple of months from start to finish, dental implants are a permanent solution (if cared for properly) that will leave you feeling like normal once again. Here is the process:
- Remove the original tooth and let the gums heal for at least a couple of months, or depending on what one of our Centennial Dental Center experts recommends.
- Have the dental rod surgically placed into the gum. During this process a metal rod will surgically be placed inside of your gum which will eventually act as a dental root— this will take around 2-3 months for your gum to properly heal around the dental rod.
- Once your gums have healed, then a dental crown will be placed over the top of your dental rod. The dental crown will be what you will be able to visibly see with your eye and will act as your actual tooth.
If cared for properly— brushing and flossing every day just as you would with your natural teeth— dental implants will last a lifetime. Additionally, you won’t be able to tell the difference between your dental implant and your natural teeth when eating, drinking, or just lounging around.

When you hear the term “infant dental care” the first thing that probably comes to mind is the fact that infants don’t have teeth. And although that might be true for the first few months of their lives, as soon as your little one starts sprouting one or two teeth, it’s time to step up your parenting game and learn more about infant dental care. Baby Bottles at Bedtime
As a parent of an infant, you likely have a nightly routine in order to get your little one to sleep. And if giving your baby a bottle before bed every night is on your list of to-do’s you might want to reconsider.
